Instructions:
- Set the Oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) and preheat it. Grease a baking dish measuring 9 by 13 inches and set it aside.
- In order to prepare the batter, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a medium-sized mixing bowl and whisk them together completely. Put aside for later.
- The butter that has been softened, the granulated sugar, and the honey should be creamed together in a large mixing bowl until the mixture is fluffy and light.
- Make sure to give the mixture a thorough beating after each addition of the eggs. Extract of vanilla should be stirred in.
- Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients in a slow and steady manner until they are almost completely incorporated.
- The unsweetened applesauce should be folded in until it is completely incorporated.
- Put together the bars by spreading the batter in an even layer into the baking dish that has been prepared and then using a spatula to smooth out the top.
- To prepare the apple topping, place the apples that have been thinly sliced in a separate mixing bowl and add the melted butter, honey, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss the apples until they are evenly coated.
- The apple slices that have been coated should be arranged in an even layer over the batter in the baking dish, with some overlap occurring if it is required.
- Bake the bars for thirty to thirty-five minutes, or until they have a golden brown colour and a toothpick that has been inserted into the centre of the bars comes out clean. Place the baking dish in an oven that has been preheated.
- Prior to slicing the Honey Apple Fritter Bars into squares, it is recommended that you wait at least fifteen minutes for the bars to cool in the baking dish before serving them. Take pleasure in serving it either warm or at room temperature.
